Learn new technology: Web 2.0
Web 2.0 is the next age of websites.. Just like robots were to normal machines and super computers were for computers.
Web 1.0 can be known as Web-as-information source. These websites cannot be altered and content in it could be modified and updated by the website owner only.
Web 2.0 is Web-as-interaction source. These websites offer users of the websites to update, modify cotent in it, thus making the websites more interactive.
As you can see, most of the networking sites like orkut, flickr, facebook are all web2.0.
For that matter, even wikipedia,imdb.com are also web2.0.
Its as good as having a room discussion online. thats Web 2.0 for you.
It has many many many internal components. I am still learning on this. My suggestion for you is to go thru the education videos of youtube on web2.0. You will understand what I spoke of.

Hi da,
Web 2.0 is the “curent” age of websites, not the next age. In my opinion, the next age can be called web 3.0(vera eppadi koopida mudiyum ?). The web 3.0 will consist of migration of application software from the desktop to the Internet and it has already started.
But just like RMS(Richard M Stallman) says, privacy is at real risk in this so called “cloud-computing”
somewhat, you are right bala..
But i meant to say that although some websites use web 2.0 (like orkut, flickr etc..) , all the other websites in real world use web 1.0.. So as a whole while referring, i didn like to coin that the current age is web 2.0..we are progressing right now to implement this technology everywhere..
PS:thanks for that info about cloud computing.
Hi,
Correct. A vast major part of the web is still in web 1.0(static HTML and that too with poor or No CSS/Java script to make it elegant). So I agree that we can’t call the present web as a whole as web 2.0. But still, the change is found every where. People have realized and started migrating from static HTML to a system where the reader can contribute. We must all thank Wikipedia for that is the major website that promoted this trend.
By the way, you are in great univ. and so must be knowing really a lot about the new and recent technologies. Please keep us updated through your blogs.
